In this video we look at the difference between preference and behaviour. This is a widely misunderstood area when it comes to Personality Type.
Psychologist Gareth English explains that preference is very fixed in adults. An individual is either an extravert or an introvert, for example.
However, this does not mean that an introvert can’t act in an extraverted way. As individuals, we can choose our behaviour to adapt to any given situation. It’s just that, for an introvert, it will be easier to act in an introverted way and take more energy to behave in an extraverted way.
