There are different sorts of people. This probably isn't news to you. But how can you make use of this knowledge? In this book you will learn more about your Personality Type and then experts in the field will help you to apply the Power of Personality to areas of your life such as parenting, exercise, working in teams, coaching and creativity.
The Power of Personality is unique, it highlights in a number of areas of life why understanding personality types can make a difference, in areas like parenting, shopping types, decision making, managing stress and coaching. A must read for anyone interested in understanding different personality types and their impact in life. --Prof. Sir Cary L. Cooper
In putting together The Power of Personality, Gareth English has brought together many of my favourite Type experts, several of whom have helped me along my own personal development journey over the years. Combining a depth of thought with practical tips and a dose of good humour, The Power of Personality is a brilliant resource both for individuals wanting to learn more about themselves, and for the professional Type practitioner. I recommend it to anyone who seeks the lasting insights that Type can provide to help face life s challenges. --Penny Moyle, CEO, OPP Ltd.
The idea of Personality Type has made a huge difference to my life and how I lead in Virgin Care. I recommend The Power of Personality to anyone who is looking to get more from Type in their organisation. --Stephen Robson, Director of People, Virgin Care.
Whilst Type models make sense, they often don’t cover enough of the difference within Types. Read on to learn about how well people use their Type.
Psychological Type systems are incredibly useful in helping people to improve their self-awareness and awareness of others. However the current models do not explain how well somebody uses their type, why two people of the same type can differ greatly in their effectiveness, or how we can maximise the potential of our type? The 'Shadows of Type' model provides the answers to these questions by placing psychological type back into its original Jungian context, 'upgrading' this to set it within the psychosynthesis model, and then combining it with ego development theory. This leads to detailed descriptions of the 16 psychological types through seven levels of ego development. Using the suggested coaching techniques and applications, individuals can gain more insight into how they are using their type and the traps that they can fall into, and coaches are enabled to work with psychological type developmentally, transformationally and transpersonally.
